A stringed instrument which employs specialized electronics to replace the typically mechanically constructed acoustical amplifier, typically known as the sound box, thereby reducing cost of manufacture and overall instrument size, making it more portable for such application as a 'travel guitar' without sacrificing volume or sound quality. In addition, the electronics enables adjustment of the instrument timbre to emulate the highest quality of typically crafted stringed instruments.
