There is disclosed a synthetic asphalt comprising a synthetic bitumen mixed with filler and aggregate. Pigments may be added to the synthetic asphalt so as to produce a wide range of differently-coloured surfacing materials. They synthetic asphalt may be applied hot and embossed with a groove pattern so as to simulate a block paved surface.
