Synthetic DNA molecules encoding papillomavirus proteins are provided. The codons of the synthetic molecules are codons preferred by the projected host cell. The synthetic molecules may be used as a polynucleotide vaccine which provides effec- tive immunoprophylaxis against papillomavirus infection through stimulation of neutralizing antibody and cell-mediated immunity.
L'invention concerne des molécules d'ADN synthétiques codant des protéines du virus de papillome. Les codons des molécules synthétiques sont des codons préférés par la cellule hôte projetée. On peut utiliser les molécules synthétiques comme un vaccin de polynucléotides qui produit une immunoprophylaxie efficace contre l'infection au virus de papillome par l'intermédiaire d'une stimulation d'anticorps neutralisant et de l'immunité à médiation cellulaire.
