The disclosure concerns novel polypep- tides of formula (I) with lung activity properties. These polypeptides can be produced in large quantities and in highly pure form and are as effective as natural lung surfactants. They can be used in the production of pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of respiratory distress syndrome in premature babies and adults. In said formula (I): A represents H or Phe, B represents Phe or Trp, and C represents Ile, Leu or Ser.

L'invention concerne de nouveaux polypeptides de la formule (I) ayant une activité de surfactant. Ces polypeptides peuvent être produits en grande quantité et sous une forme extrèmement pure, et ils sont aussi efficaces que les surfactants naturels. Ils peuvent être utilisés dans la production de compositions pharmaceutiques destinées au traitement du syndrome de membrane hyaline et de souffrance respiratoire du nouveau-né et de l'adulte. Dans ladite formule (I), A représente H ou Phe, B représente Phe ou Trp, et C représente Ile, Leu ou bien Ser.
