Synthetic polysaccharides containing 8-24 monosaccharide units made up of a concatenation of disaccharides consisting of a uronic acid and a hexose, wherein all of the hydroxyl groups of the polysaccharides are etherified with a C1-6 alkyl group or esterified in the form of a sulpho group, each disaccharide being at least monoetherified; and salts thereof, are disclosed.

L'invention concerne des polysaccharides de synthèse contenant de 8 à 24 unités monosaccharidiques formées par un enchaînement de disaccharides constitués d'un acide uronique et d'un hexose, lesdits polysaccharides étant caractérisés en ce que tous leurs groupes hydroxyles sont éthérifiés avec un groupe (C1-C6)alkyle ou estérifiés sous la forme de groupe sulfo, chaque disaccharide étant au moins monoéthérifé; ainsi que leurs sels de formule (I). Les polysaccharides de synthèse de la présente invention présentent l'avantage de posséder les activités pharmacologiques de l'héparine, mais exercées de façon sélective. (voir formule I)
