ABSTRACT Frictional heat generated by forcing synthetic resins, that may contain rainwater and dirt, between a rotating drive shaft and a cylindrical case is used to safely melt down and compact scrap synthetic resins for recycling. A screw shaft having a spiral compressing blade in close proximity or touching a counter rotating cutter with longitudinal blades act as scissors to cut synthetic resin string, bags, sheets, etc. into small pieces to increase frictional heating efficiency.
