Spinels can be synthesized by uniformly dispersing predetermined quantities of ingredient compounds whose particles have sizes no greater than about 5 nanometers in a liquid medium, arresting the ingredient compounds in a solid matrix by spray drying said liquid medium and then calcining the resulting particles to form a solid solution of oxides of said compounds in a crystalline lattice which is substantially free of undesired complex compounds of the ingredient compounds.

Des spinelles peuvent être synthétisées en dispersant uniformément des quantités prédéterminées de composés ingrédients sous forme de particules dont la taille n'excède pas environ 5 nanomètres dans un milieu liquide, en immobilisant les composés ingrédients dans une matrice solide par séchage par pulvérisation dudit milieu liquide et en procédant à la calcination des particules ainsi obtenues pour former une solution solide d'oxydes desdits composés dans un réseau cristallin qui est substantiellement exempt de complexes non voulus formés avec les composés ingrédients.
