ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A woven double-velour fabric of synthetic fiber provides an excellent structure for ingrowth and adhesion of tissue thereto and can be woven tightly enough 80 that preclotting may be omitted if 60 desired. The features recited are achieved through the use of appropriate combinations of preshrunk, texturized yarn with unshrunk, untexturized yarn. The tightly-woven, low-porosity synthetic velour fabric material to which tissue can adhere, comprises a warp consisting essentially of untexturized, unshrunk yarn of the material, and texturized, shrunk yarn of the material, the fabric having loops of the texturized yarn on both surfaces thereof for facilitating adherence of tissue to the fabric; and a fill of yarn of the material interwoven with said wasp, the fabric being suitable for use as a graft. A method of manufacture is .also disclosed.
