Th invention provides a syringe for preventing anemia resulting from withdrawal of blood from a patient for analysis, the syringe including a cylindrical tube having a nozzle at its lower end to which a needle is attachable; a piston disposed within the tube and apiston handle protruding from the upper end of hte tube; the syringe being further adapted ot a be placed in a centrifuge for separating blood drawn from the patient into supernatant plasma componenet and a packed-cells component, and further comprising means for separating or removing at least a portion of teh plasma, thereby facilitating the injection of the packed-cells back into the patient. The invention also provides a method for preventing anemia resulting from the withdrawal of blood from a patient for analysis.
L'invention concerne une seringue pour éviter l'anémie provoquée par le retrait du sang d'un patient lors des prises de sang en vue d'analyses. Cette seringue contient un tube cylindrique avec une buse au niveau de son extrémité inférieure à laquelle peut être fixée une aiguille ; un piston logé dans le tube et une poignée de piston débordant de l'extrémité supérieure du tube, la seringue étant adaptée pour être placée dans une centrifugeuse pour séparer le sang prélevé du patient en un plasma surnageant et un composant de globules concentrés. En outre, cette seringue comprend des moyens pour séparer ou retirer au moins une partie du plasma, ce qui facilite l'injection de globules concentrés dans le patient. L'invention traite aussi d'un procédé pour éviter l'anémie provoquée par le retrait du sang d'un patient lors des prises de sang en vue d'analyses.
