ABSTRACT A syrup dosing valve for use in soft drink dispensing installations is disclosed in which the quantity of syrup supplied is adjustable by means of a screw threaded adjusting pin. The adjusting pin is associated with pressure sensing means, in communication with and responsive to the syrup inlet pressure, in order to enable the valve to be disabled, thereby prevent further use of the installation once a pressure of the syrup supply is sensed. In one embodiment, the pressure sensing means comprise a diaphragm operated electric switch, mounted on head portion of the adjusting pin. Flow damping means may be provided for stabilizing the operation of the switch.
