A power door operator for mass transit vehicles utilizing a pneumatic cylinder for driving a vehicular door from open to closed positions. The operating system disclosed incorporates pressure sensitive electrical switches arranged in the pneumatic circuit of the door drive pneumatic cylinder to detect pressure variations indicative of an obstruction in the path of the driven door in moving from open to closed. Variations in cylinder discharge pressure indicative of the presence of an obstruction in the powered door panel are sensed by the pressure sensitive switches and recycle or reopen the doors. The invention further includes a requirement that the vehicular operator manually resets the door control system after each sensed obstruction. - 12 -
