A non-invasive system and method of determining the presence or absence of neural, muscular, soft tissue, bone or joint damage to a person's hand and/or wrist. The system includes a plurality of contact points, one of which is engageable by the person's thumb and two of which are engageable by other digits of the hand, at least one of the other digits being innervated by the ulnar nerve. Force detectors are operatively connected to at least two of the contact points for measuring the quantity of force applied through respective contact points as the thumb and other digits are brought toward each other in a natural gripping motion. The measured forces are displayed for analysis of the hand and/or wrist.

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé non invasifs qui permettent de déterminer la présence ou l'absence d'une lésion neuronale, musculaire, osseuse, d'un tissu mou ou d'une articulation sur la main et/ou le poignet d'une personne. Le système comprend une pluralité de points de contact, dont l'un reçoit le pouce et deux autres reçoivent d'autres doigts de la main, au moins l'un des autres doigts étant innervé par le nerf cubital. Des détecteurs de force sont reliés de manière fonctionnelle à au moins deux des points de contact pour mesurer la force exercée au travers de points de contact respectifs, lorsque le pouce et les autres doigts sont rapprochés dans un mouvement naturel de préhension. Les forces mesurées sont indiquées aux fins d'analyse de la main et/ou du poignet.
