TITLE SYSTEM AND CIRCUITS FOR TELEVISION SIGNAL PROCESSING ABSTRACT A color television signal, whether in PAL or NTSC can be efficiently encoded by unidimensional or bidimensional transform using a variable frequency sampling clock with digital processing of the sampled signal. One single analog signal can be changed therefore into three signals having statistical characteristics similar to color signal components, which in the case of PAL are Y, U, V. Encoding through the transform of the signals permits high compression of the information to be transmitted. Further there is uniformity in treating the composite signal and the component signals with identical hardware.
