The present invention is a system and method for continuing a telephone call placed by a caller (102) to a call center (120) in a telecommunications network (100). When a caller attempts to make a call to the call center that is unavailable, the system obtains callback information for the caller including a telephone number where the caller can be reached. The call is then ended. When the call center is again available, the system continues the call by placing a call to the caller at said telephone number, placing a call to the destination, and joining the two calls.

La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé permettant la reprise d'une communication téléphonique demandée par un appelant (102) à un centre téléphonique (120) appartenant à un réseau de télécommunications (100). Lorsqu'un appelant tente d'appeler un centre téléphonique non disponible, le système obtient pour l'appelant des informations de rappel, parmi lesquelles un numéro de téléphone où joindre l'appelant. Il est alors mis fin à l'appel. Lorsque le centre téléphonique redevient disponible, le système reprend l'appel en appelant l'abonné demandeur au numéro précité, en établissant la communication avec le destinataire, et en réunissant les deux appels.
