A method and system for authenticating the sender of a mailpiece is described for identifying certain mailpieces as originating from known trusted senders. In one configuration, biometric information and/or biometric metadata is captured when a user writes on a mailpiece with a digital pen. That data is then compared to reference data in a database. Registrant data is then loaded into storage device on the mailpiece and may be digitally signed and/or encrypted by the trusted third party. In another configuration, a mailpiece includes the signature of a sender and the biometric data includes authentication data obtained from the signature that is compared to the biometric data related to the signature obtained during a sender registration process.
L'invention concerne une méthode et un système d'authentification d'expéditeur de pièce de courrier pour identifier certaines pièces de courrier en provenance d'expéditeurs connus de confiance. Dans une configuration, des renseignements biométriques et/ou des métadonnées biométriques sont consignés lorsque l'utilisateur inscrit des données sur une pièce de courrier au moyen d'un stylo numérique. Ces données sont ensuite comparées à des données de référence dans une base de données. Les données inscrites sont ensuite téléchargées dans un dispositif de stockage sur la pièce de courrier et peuvent être numériquement signées et/ou cryptées par le tiers de confiance. Dans une autre configuration, une pièce de courrier comprend la signature d'une expéditeur et les données biométriques incluent des données d'authentifcation dérivées de la signature qui sont comparées aux données biométriques relatives à la signature obtenue durant le processus d'enregistrement de l'expéditeur.
