The invention concerns a system for authenticating manufactured articles provided with magnetic markings, using a device for detecting said markings, wherein each marking comprises at least an amorphous ferromagnetic filament, with a diameter less than 20 µm provided with a glass sheath with a thickness less than 10 µm, wherein the detection device is a portable device for detecting such ferromagnetic filaments. The invention also concerns a method for marking such articles.
