A system and method for enabling the automatic setting of a mask for displaying live endoscopic images on a monitor device. An imaging node processor selects a pre-determined mask setting based on an automatically detected solid state imager (CCD) type when connected to the video processor, and a selected magnifying ration. Based on this information, a mask pattern is automatically generated in a main memory. A merge function enables to mask to be displayed with cutout portions where information including, live or frozen image, thumbnail image associated with a static image capture, and a patient demographic information is displayed. The user may select the frame coordinate locations corresponding to the corners of the live viewable area, captured image display and other system and demographic information to be displayed. Further, while the system is configured to include pre-defined masks, users are additionally able to create additional masks or modify the system-defined masks. The user can associate a mask to one or more scopes or video chip (imager) types.
La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé devant permettre la définition automatique d'un masque pour l'affichage sur un écran de contrôle d'images endoscopiques animées. Un processeur de noeud d'imagerie sélectionne une définition préétablie de masque, en tenant compte du type d'imageur transistorisé (à cellule CCD) automatiquement détecté pendant la connexion au processeur vidéo, et d'un rapport d'agrandissement choisi. Cette information sert de base à la génération automatique d'une structure de masque dans une mémoire principale. Une fonction de fusion permet l'affichage du masque avec des zones découpées où s'affiche de l'information et notamment l'image animée ou fixe, la vignette associée à la capture d'une image fixe, et l'information démographique concernant le patient. L'utilisateur peut sélectionner les emplacements en coordonnées de trame correspondant aux coins de la zone visualisable en direct, l'affichage d'images prises, et d'autres informations système et démographiques à afficher. En outre, même si le système est configuré pour inclure des masques préétablis, les utilisateurs peuvent ajouter des masques qu'ils créent. Ils peuvent aussi modifier les masques définis par le système. L'utilisateur peut associer un masque à un ou plusieurs écrans vidéo ou types de circuit vidéo (imageur).
