System for reading a document provided with machine-readable holder details and establishing whether a person presenting the document has a predetermined right, which document at least contains a chip containing biometric data on a holder as well as data with a predetermined relationship to the holder details, and wherein the system comprises: .bullet. a reader for reading the chip and the machine-readable holder details; .bullet. a memory containing details with regard to the right of the holder; .bullet. a biometric feature scanner; .bullet. a processing unit connected to reader, memory and scanner and equipped to: .bullet. establish the authenticity of chip and data using public key encryption technology; .bullet. receive the biometric data on the holder from the chip; .bullet. receive the biometric data on the person presenting the document from the scanner and to compare these with the data on the holder to determine whether the person presenting the document is the holder; .bullet. receive the holder details via the reader, check the relationship between the holder details and the data and read the right of the holder from the memory; provide a signal to indicate the right for the person presenting the document if the chip and the data are authentic, the relationship has been established and the person presenting the document is the same as the holder.
Système servant à lire un document comportant des détails concernant le détenteur et pouvant être lus à la machine et à établir si la personne présentant ce document possède un droit prédéterminé, ce document contenant au moins une puce incluant des données biométriques concernant son détenteur, ainsi que des données présentant un rapport prédéterminé avec les détails concernant le détenteur, ce système comprenant: un lecteur servant à lire la puce et les détails concernant le détenteur et lisibles à la machine; une mémoire contenant des détails concernant le droit du détenteur; un analyseur de caractéristiques biométriques; une unité de traitement couplée au lecteur, à la mémoire et à l'analyseur et conçue pour: établir l'authenticité de la puce et des données au moyen d'une technologique de cryptage de clé publique; recevoir les données biométriques concernant le détenteur depuis la puce; recevoir les données biométriques concernant la personne présentant le document depuis l'analyseur et comparer celles-ci avec les données concernant le détenteur afin de déterminer si la personne présentant le document est le détenteur; recevoir les détails concernant le détenteur par l'intermédiaire du lecteur, vérifier le rapport entre les détails concernant le détenteur et les données et lire le droit du détenteur depuis la mémoire. Ce système produit un signal permettant d'indiquer le droit de la personne présentant le document si la puce et les données sont authentiques, ce qui définit que le rapport a été établi et que la personne présentant le document est la même que le détenteur.
