A method for identifying non-body structures in digitized medical images including the steps of providing a digitized image comprising a plurality of intensities corresponding to a domain of points on an N-dimensional grid, wherein said image includes a representation of a body and of non-body structures separate from said body, initializing (11) a surface in said image on a side of said non-body structures opposite from said body, defining (13) a plurality of forces acting on said surface, and displacing (14) said surface through said non-body structures using said forces until said body is encountered.
L'invention concerne un procédé servant à identifier des structures non corporelles dans des images médicales numérisées. Le procédé selon l'invention comprend les étapes suivantes : fourniture d'une image numérisée comprenant une pluralité d'intensités correspondant à un domaine de points sur une grille à N dimensions, cette image incluant une représentation d'un corps et de structures non corporelles distinctes de ce corps ; initialisation (11) d'une surface dans cette image sur un côté des structures non corporelles à l'opposé du corps ; définition (13) d'une pluralité de forces agissant sur cette surface ; déplacement (14) de cette surface à travers ces structures non corporelles à l'aide de ces forces jusqu'à ce que le corps soit atteint.
