An apparatus and a method for processing program guide data information are disclosed having the following. A program guide representing program guide data information is displayed in various formats. For example, the program guide is displayed in a first format which has a first dimension representing time information and a second dimension representing channel information. The program guide is displayed in a second format in response to a user request. The second format represents a discrete truncation alone either one of the first or second dimensions.
