The present invention of a scalable System and Method for Collecting, Transferring, and Analyzing Information from Point-of Sale Devices, captures POS data from both open point-of sale (OPOS) compliant and proprietary systems. It uploads the data from the system through the Internet to a file transfer protocol (FTP) server. The data is put into a ROLAP environment and is then standardized according to both franchise level and industry level standard definitions. Historical information is maintained for each store (product lists, product pricing, etc.). Data can be compared for all businesses using this system and method.
