The method comprises: placing seeds in an image of a patient abdomen (520); determining features of the seeds and voxels neighboring the seeds (530); and performing a region growing of the colon wall using a classifier trained to distinguish between the colon wall and nearby objects based on the features of the seeds and voxels neighboring the seeds (540)

Système et procédé d'extraction d'une paroi du côlon. Le procédé consiste à: placer des grains dans une image de l'abdomen d'un patient (520); déterminer les caractéristiques des grains et des voxels avoisinant les grains (530); et faire croître une zone de la paroi du côlon utilisant un module de classification entraîné pour distinguer la paroi du côlon et les objets avoisinants d'après les caractéristiques des grains et des voxels avoisinant les grains (540).
