A method for controlling an internal combustion engine (62) with a sequential turbocharging system (60) which limits an applied engine torque (80) to a dynamic engine torque limit value (74) to achieve increased turbocharger shaft acceleration during the presence of a mode switch pending condition (92). The presence of the mode switch pending condition (92) indicates that the sequential turbocharging system (60) is operating in the first mode, in which the primary turbocharger (52) is active, and it is desired to operate the system (60) in the second mode, in which both the primary and secondary turbochargers (52, 54) are active.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de commander un moteur à combustion interne (62) à l'aide d'un système à turbocompression séquentielle (60), lequel limite le couple moteur appliqué (80) à une valeur limite (74) du couple moteur dynamique, afin d'obtenir une accélération améliorée de l'arbre du turbocompresseur en présence d'un état d'attente de commutation de mode (92). La présence de cet état d'attente de commutation de mode (92) indique en effet que ledit système à turbocompression séquentielle (60) fonctionne selon le premier mode, dans lequel le turbocompresseur primaire (52) est actif, ce système (60) pouvant également fonctionner selon le second mode, dans lequel les turbocompresseurs primaire et secondaire (52, 54) sont également actifs.
