A computer-based Executive Information System (202) for determining the impact of weather and other external and internal factors on the retail industry. Utilizing a multiple regression correlation technique in a predictive model, a correlation of weather variables with store information for specific locations and times is performed to quantify a weather impact model in terms of unit or dollar sales volume change, or any other commercially useful benchmark (704). The Executive Information System determines these relationships with location and time specificity. Using the relationship between historical weather and historical sales, the system "deweatherizes" the historical weather to create a normalized historical sales relative to weather based on the 30 years average normal weather (720). The deweatherized data may be used in conjunction with a user-provided managerial plan to produce a revised managerial plan (207). Alternatively the revised plan can be "weatherized" by the system by applying forecasted weather to the weather impact model to generate a weather-modified managerial plan (204).
Un système informatisé d'aide à la décision permet de déterminer l'incidence de la météorologie et d'autres facteurs internes ou externes sur le commerce de détail. En utilisant dans un modèle prévisionnel une technique de corrélation à régressions multiples, on obtient une corrélation des variables métérologiques avec des informations d'entreposage concernant des lieux et dates précis, ce qui permet de traduire un modèle d'incidence météorologique envariations du volume unitaire ou monétaire des ventes ou en tout autre critère (704) utile en matière commerciale. Ce système d'aide à la décision détermine de telles relations en fonction des lieux et des dates. En utilisant une relation entre les historiques de la météorologie et des ventes, ce système détache celui de la météorologie des caprices météorologiques pour créer un historique des ventes normalisé par rapport à la météorologie, en fonction des normales (720) météorologiques moyennes établies sur 30 ans. Ces données "démétéorologisées" peuvent s'utiliser en conjonction avec un plan de gestion propre à l'utilisateur pour donner un plan (207) de gestion révisé. Ce plan révisé peut aussi être "météorologisé" par le système par l'application de conditions météorologiques prévues au modèle d'incidence météorologique, ce qui donne un plan (204) de gestion modifié en fonction de la météorologie.
