A system for dispensing a wellness product from clinic inventory, in which a record is generated containing the name of the professional, the name of the patient, and the name of the product identified by bar codes. The computer system in the clinic accumulates information associated with each dispensing of a product to a patient, and compares the accumulated information with a product information file stored in the computer memory, including information on the inventory threshold below which each product is to be reordered. From the comparison, the computer system automatically prepares an electronic product reorder request if the number of units of a particular product falls below the reorder threshold. The clinic computer is electronically linked with the computer system at the supplier of the product in inventory, such that an electronic transmission is communicated to the supplier including a reorder request for the depleted product in inventory.
L'invention concerne un système de distribution d'un produit de santé compris dans l'inventaire des produits d'une clinique. Dans cet inventaire, est produit un fichier comprenant le nom du spécialiste, le nom du patient et le nom du produit identifié par le repère. Le système informatique de la clinique accumule l'information associée à chaque distribution d'un produit à un patient et compare l'information accumulée avec un fichier d'information de produit stocké dans la mémoire de l'ordinateur, comprenant un information relative au seuil d'inventaire en dessous duquel chaque produit doit faire l'objet d'une commande de renouvellement. Le système informatique se réfère à cette comparaison pour préparer automatiquement une commande si le nombre d'unités d'un produit particulier se trouve en dessous du seuil de renouvellement. L'ordinateur de la clinique est relié électroniquement au système informatique du fournisseur du produit inventorié, de manière à transmettre électroniquement au fournisseur la commande pour le produit épuisé dans l'inventaire.
