A mobile station for use in an IS-2000-compatible wireless network. The mobile station is capable of receiving data from a first base station of the wireless network simultaneously in a 10 first code division multiple access (CDMA) channel and a second CDMA channel. The mobile station transmits a capability message to the first base station, the capability message comprising a field indicating that the mobile station is capable of simultaneously operating in a Forward Packet Data channel (F-PDCH) and a Forward 15 Supplemental channel (F- SCH).

L'invention concerne une station mobile destinée à être utilisée dans un réseau sans fil compatible IS-2000. La station mobile peut recevoir des données d'une première station de base du réseau sans fil simultanément dans une voie d'accès multiple par répartition de code (AMRC) et dans une seconde voie AMRC. La station mobile transmet un message de possibilité à la première station de base, le message de possibilité comprenant un champ indiquant que la station mobile peut simultanément fonctionner dans une voie aller de paquets de données (F-PDCH) et dans une voie aller supplémentaire (F-SCH).
