A method and system for producing interface code to use services of an enterprise information system. An application specific information schema is provided that defines the format and shape of application specific information usable in a business object schema defining the business object and the application specific information for the enterprise information system. An enterprise metadata discovery schema is also provided for anchoring the application specific information schema to: complex type, element and attribute; and the business object schema. The business object schema is generated using a metatdata editor. The interface code is produced using the business object schema.
