A new improved system and method for end turn retention for wires on a generator rotor for use in high speed applications such as in aircraft applications. The rotor includes a shaft, spokes, supports, and wire winding coils, and at least one cap device. The spokes extend radially outwardly from the shaft, and each support is positioned on an associated spoke. Each coil wraps around an associated support and spoke. Each cap device is coupled to an end of its associated spoke to prevent the windings from moving radially outwardly while the rotor spins. Each support is coupled to an associated cap device, and includes at its radially inward edge a flange protruding away from the respective spoke. Because of the flange and the cap device, slack of the wire coil between the flange and the associated cap is taken up.
L'invention concerne un nouveau système et un procédé améliorés de retenue de la spire terminale des câbles sur un rotor de générateur conçu pour des applications haute vitesse comme par exemple les applications aéronautiques. Ce rotor comporte un arbre, des ailettes, des supports et des bobines d'enroulement de câble et au moins un capot. Les ailettes s'étendent radialement vers l'extérieur à partir de l'arbre et chaque support est placé sur une ailette correspondante. Chaque enroulement est installé autour du support et de l'ailette correspondante. Chaque capot vient s'accoupler avec une extrémité de l'ailette correspondante de manière à empêcher le déplacement radial des enroulements vers l'extérieur pendant la rotation du rotor. Chaque support est accouplé avec le capot correspondant et comprend sur son bord radial interne un rebord s'avançant dans une direction opposée à l'ailette respective. Le rebord et le capot permettent le rattrapage du jeu de l'enroulement de câble correspondant.
