A network comprises a plurality of network nodes. Each network node has a unique node identifier within the context of the network and stores a table of node (100). The table (100) of nodes includes at least one table entry. The table entry includes three fields - a destination node field (101), a next node field (102) and a cost field (103). The destination field (101) is a unique node identifier corresponding to another node in the network. The next node (102) is a unique node identifier corresponding to the next node in the communication path to the destination node. When a node is added to the network, it detects the presence of adjacent nodes. The new node obtains the table of nodes stored in each adjacent node and uses the information contained in the node tables (100) to updated its own node table, thereby obtaining information for communicating with every other node in the network.
Un réseau comprend une pluralité de noeuds de réseau. Chaque noeud de réseau possède un identificateur de noeud unique dans le contexte du réseau et stocke une table de noeuds (100). Cette table (100) de noeuds comprend au moins une entrée de table. Cette entrée de table comporte trois champs : un champ de noeud de destination (101), un champ de noeud suivant (102) et un champ de coût (103). Le champ de destination (101) est un identificateur de noeud unique correspondant à un autre noeud du réseau. Le noeud suivant (102) est un identificateur de noeud unique correspondant au noeud suivant dans le trajet de communication vers le noeud de destination. Lorsqu'un noeud est ajouté au réseau, il détecte la présence de noeuds adjacents. Le nouveau noeud obtient la table de noeuds stockée dans chaque noeud adjacent et utilise les informations contenues dans les tables de noeuds (100) afin de mettre à jour sa propre table de noeuds, ce qui permet l'obtention d'informations en vue de communiquer avec chaque autre noeud du réseau.
