A system and method for frequency planning in a wireless communication network area using an impact matrix (50) which relates signal interference impacts between sectors (54, 58) in a network service area for co-channel and adjacent channel interference. The impact matrix (50) uses weighted propagation analysis (60) and empirical measurement data (62) to determine signal levels within each pixel of a network service area. The system merges the propagation analysis (60) and empirical measurement data (62) according to user assigned confidences.

Système et procédé servant à planifier des fréquences dans une zone couverte par un réseau de communication sans fil au moyen d'une matrice d'impact mettant en correspondance des impacts provoqués par des interférences de signaux entre des secteurs d'une zone de service de réseau afin de définir des interférences entre des voies contiguës ou dans la même voie. Cette matrice d'impact met en application une analyse de propagation pondérée et des données de mesures empiriques afin de déterminer des niveaux de signaux à l'intérieur de chaque pixel d'une zone de service de réseau. Ce système fusionne l'analyse de propagation et les données de mesures empiriques en fonction d'informations confidentielles attribuées à l'utilisateur.
