The invention concerns an installation and a method for heat insulation wherein a volume (10) defined by the space enclosed between a first casing (5) inside a second casing (3), is filled with vegetable foam particles. In another embodiment, the casings consist of a column of tubes set in a sink. The invention also concerns a vegetable foam consisting of at least a flour and/or a non-gelatinised starch, a plasticising agent, and whereof the water content is less than 10 %.

La présente invention concerne une installation et une méthode d'isolation thermique, dans lesquelles un volume (10) dé- fini par l'espace compris entre une première enveloppe (5) interne à une deuxième enveloppe (3), est rempli par des particules de mousse végétale. Dans une variante, les enveloppes sont constituées par une colonne de tubes placée dans un puits. L'invention concerne égale- ment une mousse végétale constituée par au moins une farine et/ou un amidon non gélatinisé, un plastifiant, et dont la teneur en eau est inférieure à 10 %.
