A system for effecting automatic identifying of a receiving aircraft (30) receiving fuel from a fuel delivery apparatus in a delivering aircraft (10) during an airborne fueling operation includes: (a) a first unit (50) coupled with the receiving aircraft (30); (b) a second unit (52) coupled with the delivering aircraft (10); and (c) a processing unit (54) coupled with at least one of the first unit (50) and the second unit (52). The first (50) and second (52) units cooperate to effect communicative coupling for conveying identifying information between the receiving aircraft (30) and the delivering aircraft (10). The processing unit (54) cooperates with at least one of the first unit and the second unit for employing the identifying information to effect the identifying.

L'invention porte sur un système permettant d'effectuer une identification automatique d'un aéronef récepteur recevant le carburant depuis un appareil de distribution de carburant d'un aéronef distributeur au cours d'une opération d'avitaillement en carburant en vol.
