A system and method are disclosed for providing journaling in a computer environment. An embodiment of the present invention comprises providing a first node and a second node; providing a journal wherein the journal is accessible by the first node and the second node; requesting a change in lock status by the first node; and executing a task by the second node in response to the request for the change in lock status by the first node.

La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé de mise en oeuvre de la journalisation dans un environnement informatique. A cet effet, pour un mode de réalisation de la présente invention, on dispose d'un premier et d'un second noeud, avec un journal accessible par les deux noeuds, puis on demande au premier noeud de modifier l'état de verrouillage. Il ne reste plus qu'à faire exécuter au second noeud une tâche en réponse à la demande de changement d'état de verrouillage par le premier noeud.
