A finger-mounted data entry device (Fig.2) that allows a user to enter information into a computing device without using a keyboard and a method of using the data entry device. The data entry device includes thumb contacts (A- F) and finger contacts (30). The thumb contacts are positioned on the user's thumbs such that the thumb contacts represent rows of keys on a standard keyboard: a first thumb contact (A) representing a base row of keys; a second thumb contact (B) representing an upper row of keys; and a third thumb contact (C) representing a lower row of keys. The finger contacts are positioned on each of the user's fingers such that touching one of the finger contacts with the first thumb contact generates a signal that is equivalent to the signal that would be generated if the user used touch typing to press a key in the base row of keys.
L'invention concerne un dispositif d'entrée monté sur les doigts, (fig.) qui permet à un utilisateur d'entrer des informations dans un dispositif de calcul sans utiliser de clavier, ainsi qu'un procédé d'utilisation du dispositif d'entrée de données. Ce dernier comprend des contacts au pouce (A-F) et des contacts aux doigts (30). Les contacts au pouce sont placés sur les pouces de l'utilisateur, de façon à représenter des rangées de touches sur un clavier traditionnel, un premier contact au pouce (A) représentant une rangée de base de touches, un second contact de pouce (B) représentant une rangée supérieure de touches, et un troisième contact de pouce (C) représentant une rangée inférieure de touches. Les contacts aux doigts sont placés sur chaque doigt de l'utilisateur, de façon que le contact d'un contact aux doigts avec le premier contact au pouce génère un signal équivalent au signal qui serait généré si l'utilisateur avait tapé une touche dans la rangée de base de touches.
