Système et méthode pour effectuer le chargement et déchargement d'une benne. Le système comporte un véhicule routier servant à transporter la benne. Le véhicule routier est muni d'un système de suspension ajustable pour permettre de soulever et d'abaisser son châssis. Le véhicule a un sous-châssis comportant au moins un rail de guidage arrière. Une plate-forme sert à supporter la benne. La plate-forme a au moins une patte avant et deux pattes arrières. La plate-forme a en outre au moins une roulette avant pour rouler sur le rail de guidage arrière du véhicule routier. Des moyens de verrouillage et de basculement installés sur chaque patte avant coopèrent avec chaque rail de guidage pour permettre de déverrouiller et de pivoter chaque patte avant entre une position d'appui au sol verticale et une position de rangement horizontale lors du chargement, et pour pivoter chaque patte avant entre la position de rangement horizontale et la position d'appui au sol verticale et verrouiller la patte avant dans la position d'appui au sol verticale lors du déchargement.
