The present invention relates to a system (10) and method for making electronic circuits comprising elements or elementary circuit blocks which can be implemented either in the form of physical circuits, for instance FPGA, or in the form of firmware, for instance memorised on microprocessor. Thanks to the methodology used to describe the circuit blocks (26a, 26b) and their functional models (21), the system (10) and method allow to execute with a WS (11) and an emulator subsystem (30), in a single integrated environment, both the functional simulation of the model of complex electronic circuit and the emulation of the electronic circuit itself. Moreover, thanks to the characteristics of intrinsic congruence between the circuit blocks (26a, 26b) and their models (21), the emulation of the complex electronic circuit can be effected using alternatively circuit blocks implemented on the emulator subsystem either in the form of hardware (26a) or in the form of firmware (26b).
L'invention concerne un système (10) et un procédé destinés à fabriquer des circuits électroniques comprenant des blocs d'éléments ou de circuits élémentaires qui peuvent être implantés sous la forme de circuits physiques, par exemple de circuit FPGA, ou sous la forme de microprogrammes, par exemple mis en mémoire dans des microprocesseurs. Grâce à la méthodologie utilisée afin de décrire les blocs de circuits (26a, 26b) et leurs modèles fonctionnels (21), le système (10) et le procédé permettent d'exécuter, à l'aide d'une station de travail informatique (11) et d'un sous-système émulateur (30), dans un environnement unique intégré, à la fois la simulation fonctionnelle du modèle de circuit électronique complexe et l'émulation du circuit lui-même. En outre, grâce aux caractéristiques de congruence intrinsèque entre les blocs de circuits (26a, 26b) et leurs modèles (21), il est possible de réaliser l'émulation du circuit électronique complexe par utilisation alternative de blocs de circuits implémentés dans le sous-système émulateur soit sous la forme matérielle (26a) soit sous la forme logicielle (26b).
