The bin height measuring system includes a acoustic pulse transmitter transmitting an acoustic pulse upwards to the upper surface content wherein a non-collinear receiver array receives the pulse echo and produces signals in response to the pulse echo wherein a processing apparatus computes one or more arrival directions of the transmitted pulse signals from the upper surface to the array along with the corresponding measured distances. The transducers serve as both receivers and transmitters. The system includes a pulse shaper and a repeater for optimizing the pulse shape relative to the signals (10). Two or more measured distances constitute a map of the upper surface for estimating the quantity of the bin content (Figure 1).
L'invention concerne un système permettant de mesurer la hauteur du contenu d'un récipient qui comporte notamment un émetteur qui émet une impulsion acoustique en direction de la surface supérieure du contenu, un réseau de récepteurs non colinéaire destiné à recevoir un écho de l'impulsion et à produire des signaux en réponse à l'écho, et un appareil de traitement destiné à calculer une ou plusieurs directions d'arrivée des signaux de la surface supérieure au réseau ainsi que les distances mesurées correspondantes. De préférence, Les récepteurs sont des transducteurs qui servent également d'émetteurs. Deux ou plusieurs de ces distances mesurées forment une carte de la surface supérieure pour estimer le volume du contenu du récipient. De préférence, le système comporte un conformateur et un répéteur d'impulsions destinés à optimiser la forme des impulsions par rapport aux signaux.
