A fluid flow within a transportation pipeline is heated with low voltage, high current electrical energy induced into a conductive closed loop structure by one or more transformers. The closed loop structure is preferably a fluid transportation pipeline constructed of electrically conductive sections of pipeline. The amount of current induced is sufficient in relation to the inherent resistivity of the conductive sections to cause the generation of heat within the pipeline sections. By conductive and convective heat transfer, the heat induced into the pipeline structure is transferred to a fluid flow within the pipeline. The current is preferably an alternating current of frequency which causes a majority of the current to travel at or near the outer surfaces of the pipeline sections which increases the effective resistivity of the sections and heat generation therein.
Un écoulement de fluide dans une conduite de transport est chauffé par une énergie électrique de faible tension, haute intensité, induite dans une structure conductrice à circuit fermé par un ou plusieurs transformateurs. La structure à circuit fermé est de préférence une conduite de transport formée de sections de conduite conductrices. La quantité de courant induit soppose à la résistivité inhérente des sections conductrices pour provoquer la génération de chaleur à lintérieur des sections de conduite. La chaleur induite dans la structure de conduite est transférée par échange conductif et convectif, à un écoulement de fluide dans la conduite. Le courant est de préférence un courant alternatif dune fréquence qui entraîne la plus grande partie du courant à circuler sur ou à proximité des surfaces externes des sections de conduite, ce qui accroît la résistivité réelle des sections et la génération de chaleur dans celles-ci.
