SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HIGH QUALITY SULFUR CONCRETE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A high quality modified sulfur concrete product is produced by blending together in a blending zone, a first stream comprising an aggregate material and suf- ficient heat energy to fluidize a sulfur-containing cement stream on conducting a subsequent stirring step, and a second stream comprising a sulfur containing cement stream, typically in the form of modified sul- fur-containing cement. Preferably, a chemically-resis- tant fines material is incorporated into the first stream, although it can also be added directly to the stirring means. Blending is conducted without requir- ing any auxiliary mechanical mixing as specifically required in conventional sulfur concrete processes. Typically, the blending step comprises impinging the first and second streams one with each other in the blending zone for in situ dispersing of the respective streams. The dispersed-blended stream is transferred from the blending zone to a stirring means, where it is collected. Since the first and second streams have already been blended and dispersed, all that remains to be done is stirring.
