A system and method for managing production printing workflow is disclosed. The system includes workflow management software which manages and facilitates the procedural stages of the workflow including job origination, job preparation, job submission and job fulfillment. The workflow management software provides an integrated object oriented interface (400), which visually reflects and interacts with the workflow. The software further provides functionality for efficient page level modifications to documents (438) at the job preparation stage. This functionality allows such modifications to be easily made to selected pages, shared among different documents (434), and collected into standardized libraries.
L'invention porte sur un système et un procédé de gestion des flux de production de travaux d'impression. Ledit système comporte à cet effet un logiciel gérant et facilitant les étapes du processus des flux y compris la rédaction, la préparation, la soumission et a réalisation, et une interface (400) orientée objet qui présente visuellement le flux et interagit avec lui. Le logiciel présente en outre des fonctions permettant d'apporter efficacement des modifications du niveau des pages des documents (438) lors de la préparation du travail. Ces fonctions permettent d'apporter facilement de telles modifications à des pages sélectionnées communes à différents documents (434), puis rassemblées dans des bibliothèques normalisées.
