A system and method for scaling images are provided. An upscaling algorithm or function is employed that increases the size of an image and then filters the upscaled image to remove aliasing artifacts. The system and method provides for acquiring an image of a first size (202), detecting the geometry of the image (204), scaling the image to a second size (216), and filtering the scaled image with at least one filter based on the detected geometry (218). During the filtering process, the edges of objects in the upscaled image are detected and different filter frequency responses are provided for the detected edges. Providing different filter frequency responses for the detected edges preserves more details for line images.
La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé de changement d'échelle d'images. Un algorithme ou une fonction d'agrandissement sont utilisés pour augmenter la taille d'une image, puis filtrer l'image agrandie de façon à supprimer les artefacts de crénelage. Le système et le procédé permettent d'obtenir une image d'une première taille (202), de détecter la géométrie de l'image (204), de changer l'échelle de l'image pour lui donner une seconde taille (216), puis de filtrer l'image à échelle modifiée avec un ou plusieurs filtres sur la base de la géométrie détectée (218). Pendant le processus de filtrage, les bords des objets dans l'image agrandie sont détectés et différentes réponses en fréquence passante sont fournies en fonction des bords détectés. La fourniture de différentes réponses en fréquence passante en fonction des bords détectés préserve plus de détails dans les images au trait.
