A system and a method for screening of nucleation tendency of a molecule, such as a macromolecule, based on acoustic, electrostatic or hybrid acoustic/electrostatic levitation of a droplet for optimising crystallisation conditions for said molecule. This allows for a controlled approach to determination of supersaturation and allows for screening of crystal nucleation conditions within minutes and hours instead of months and years with a minute amount of starting material compared to conventional crystallisation methods.
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé permettant d'analyser la tendance à la nucléation d'une molécule, telle qu'une macromolécule, en fonction de la lévitation acoustique, électrostatique ou acoustique/électrostatique d'une gouttelette afin d'optimiser les conditions de cristallisation de ladite molécule. Ledit procédé offre une approche contrôlée permettant de déterminer une supersaturation et d'analyser des conditions de nucléation cristallines en minutes ou en heures au lieu de mois ou d'années avec une quantité minime de matériau de départ par rapport aux procédés de cristallisation classiques.
