A system and method for sensing the periodic position of one or more objects, such as rotating blades of a turbine. The system includes a passive eddy current sensing unit (variable reluctance sensor) having one or more magnets and first and second cores around which first and second coils are wound, respectively, which together generate first and second magnetic fields. The sensing unit is positioned so that the object periodically passes through the first and second magnetic fields in succession, and the first and second coils consequently produce first and second output signals, respectively. Each coil is individually connected to a processing circuitry that receives each of the first and second output signals. The circuitry electronically combines the first and second output signals so that common mode signals thereof electronically subtract from each other to eliminate from output of the circuitry any electromagnetic interference noise (common mode signals) present in the first and second output signals.

La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé pour détecter la position périodique dun ou de plusieurs objets, tels que des lames rotatives dune turbine. Le système comprend une unité de détection de courant de Foucault passif (capteurs à réluctance variable) comportant un ou plusieurs aimants, et des premier et second noyaux autour desquels des premier et second serpentins sont enroulés, respectivement, qui génèrent ensemble des premier et second champs magnétiques. Lunité de détection est positionnée de façon que lobjet passe périodiquement à travers les premier et second champs magnétiques successivement, et que les premier et second serpentins produisent conséquemment des premier et second signaux de sortie, respectivement. Chaque serpentin est individuellement connecté à des circuits de traitement qui reçoivent chacun des premier et second signaux de sortie. Les circuits combinent électroniquement les premier et second signaux de sortie de façon que des signaux communs de ceux-ci se retranchent électroniquement les uns des autres pour éliminer à partir de la sortie des circuits tout bruit dinterférence électromagnétique (signaux communs) se trouvant dans les premier et second signaux de sortie.
