A system and method for setting up an applicator (130) to treat a target blank (105b) traveling on a conveyor (100) includes placing a mark (160) on an example blank (105a), where the mark (160) represents a desired location for treatment of the target blank (105b). The marked example blank (105a) is passed along the conveyor (100), and the location of the mark (160) is sensed on the example blank (105a). The applicator (130) is programmed to treat the target blank (105b) at the sensed location. Further, a method and system for regulating an applicator (130) for treating a desired location of a target blank (105b) traveling along a conveyor (100) includes passing the target blank (105b) along the conveyor (100) and sensing an applied location of the treatment to the target blank (105b). The applied location is compared with the desired location and responsive to the comparing, the applicator (130) is adjusted to apply the treatment closer to the desired location.
