A method of trafficking telecommunication signals having various formats, includes providing, at a first network element, a synchronous payload envelope having a first format, the synchronous payload envelope comprising a synchronous path and associated overhead portion and a payload portion, mapping the synchronous payload envelope into a transport signal having a second format without terminating the synchronous path or associated overhead portion of the synchronous payload envelope, and transmitting the transport signal to a second network element over a network supporting the second format.
L'invention concerne un procédé de gestion de trafic pour signaux de télécommunication de différents formats. Ledit procédé consiste à utiliser, au niveau d'un premier élément du réseau, une enveloppe de charge utile synchrone ayant un premier format, cette enveloppe de charge utile synchrone comprenant une partie acheminement synchrone et données techniques associées et une partie charge utile; à adapter l'enveloppe de charge utile synchrone pour un signal de transport d'un second format sans mettre fin à la partie acheminement synchrone ou données techniques associées de l'enveloppe de charge utile synchrone; et à transmettre le signal de transport à un second élément du réseau sur un réseau capable de gérer le second format.
