A system and method for transporting film (400) in a motion film projector (100). The system includes a set of film carriages (106) and a set of secondary shutters (120) mounted on a conveyor (104), which continually advances the film carriages (106) and the secondary shutters (120) along a linear path oriented orthogonally with respect to an optical axis (L) of an aperture block (110), through which images on the film (400) are projected. Each film carriage (106) receives a loop of film and then rolls the loop of film in the direction of the aperture block (110). A deceleration mechanism (114) periodically engages and decelerates the film (400). Once the film (400) has been decelerated, a section of the film (400) is temporarily secured in alignment with the aperture block (110) and an image disposed on the film (400) is projected. The conveyor (104) then moves a secondary shutter (120) into alignment with the aperture block (110) to shutter the aperture block (110).
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé de transport de film (400) dans un projecteur de cinéma (100).
