An adjustable vacuum and support system (25) for evacuating particulate matter, smoke, excess gasses, and molten metal from a work area during TIG welding and for providing adjustable support to a welding head (12). The vacuum system has a vacuum head (36) and a vacuum nozzle (40). An adjustable mounting bracket arrangement (38) has a first portion fixed to the vacuum head (36) and a second portion securable to the welding head (12). The bracket arrangement (38) establishes pivotal and slidable couplings between the welding head (12) and the vacuum head (36). The vacuum nozzle (40) has a support surface (41) for being rested on a surface of a workpiece (100) to support the vacuum head (36) and the welding head (12). The support surface (41) of the vacuum nozzle (40) can be a base bevel (41) surface at the tip of the nozzle (40). An opposed suction bevel surface (43) can have a nozzle aperture (45) interposed therealong.
Linvention concerne un système de support et daspiration ajustable (25) permettant dévacuer des matières particulaires, de la fumée, des gaz excédentaires et des métaux en fusion dune zone de travail pendant le soudage TIG, et permettant de fournir un support ajustable à une tête de soudage (12). Le système daspiration comprend une tête daspiration (36) et une buse daspiration (40). Un agencement de support de montage ajustable (38) comprend une première partie fixée sur la tête d'aspiration (36) et une seconde partie pouvant être fixée sur la tête de soudage (12). L'agencement de support (38) permet de créer des accouplements pivotants et coulissants entre la tête de soudage (12) et la tête d'aspiration (36). La buse d'aspiration (40) comprend une surface de support (41) destinée à reposer sur une surface d'une pièce (100) pour supporter la tête daspiration (36) et la tête de soudage (12). La surface de support (41) de la buse daspiration (40) peut être une surface oblique de base (41) située sur le bout de la buse (40). Une surface oblique d'aspiration opposée (43) peut comprendre une ouverture de buse (45) placée le long de celle-ci.
