Systems and methods for leveraging proximity data in a web-based socially- enabled information networking environment are disclosed. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system, of semantic advertising via semantic profiles. One embodiment can include, receiving a model profile from an advertiser, enforcing a set of rules that govern accessibility of the web content, parsing the model profile to obtain a first set of model user metadata associated with the ideal set of user characteristics, comparing model user metadata of the first set of model user metadata with user metadata of a set of user metadata of a semantic user profile of a user, and generating a correlation index to indicate a degree of correlation between the model profile and the semantic user profile.

Dans un aspect, des modes de réalisation de la présente invention comportent un procédé pouvant être mis en uvre dans un système d'annonces publicitaires sémantiques au moyen de profils sémantiques. L'un des modes de réalisation comporte une succession d'opérations consistant à recevoir d'un annonceur un profil modèle, à mettre en place un ensemble de règles gouvernant l'accessibilité du contenu Internet, à analyser le profil modèle de façon à obtenir un premier ensemble de métadonnées d'utilisateur modèle associé à l'ensemble idéal des caractéristiques d'utilisateur, à comparer les métadonnées d'utilisateur modèle du premier ensemble de métadonnées d'utilisateur modèle aux métadonnées d'utilisateur d'un ensemble de métadonnées d'utilisateur d'un profil d'utilisateur sémantique d'un utilisateur, et à générer un indice de corrélation de façon à indiquer un degré de corrélation entre le profil modèle et le profil d'utilisateur sémantique.
