A system and method for updating, monitoring, and controlling applications on a workstation. The workstation includes a workstation management module configured to detect the launch or request to access a network by an application. A workstation application server receives data associated with the application from the workstation. The application server module can determine one or more policies or categories to associate with the application by referencing an application inventory database. Once the application server module has the category or policy, it forwards a hash/policy table to the workstation management module. Upon receipt of the hash/policy table, the workstation management module applies the policy that is associated with the application to control network access by the application.
La présente invention se rapporte à un système et à un procédé permettant de mettre à jour, de contrôler et de commander des applications sur un poste de travail. Ledit poste de travail comprend un module de gestion de poste de travail, qui est configuré pour détecter le lancement d'une application ou demander l'accès à un réseau par une application. Un serveur d'applications de poste de travail reçoit du poste de travail des données associées à l'application. Un module serveur d'applications peut déterminer une ou plusieurs politiques ou catégories devant être associées à l'application, par le référencement d'une base de données d'inventaire d'applications. Une fois qu'il est en possession de la catégorie ou politique, le module serveur d'applications transfère une table de hachage/politique au module de gestion de poste de travail. Lors de la réception de ladite table de hachage/politique, le module de gestion de poste de travail applique la politique qui est associée à l'application pour commander l'accès au réseau par l'application.
