Apparatus having a fiber optic tether disposed in coiled tubing for communicating information between downhole tools and sensors and surface equipment and methods of operating such equipment. Wellbore operations performed using the fiber optic enabled coiled tubing apparatus includes transmitting control signals from the surface equipment to the downhole equipment over the fiber optic tether, transmitting information gathered from at least one downhole sensor to the surface equipment over the fiber optic tether, or collecting information by measuring an optical property observed on the fiber optic tether. The downhole tools or sensors connected to the fiber optic tether may either include devices that manipulate or respond to optical signal directly or tools or sensors that operate according to conventional principles.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif doté d'un filoguidage par fibres optiques disposée dans un tube d'intervention pour permettre le transfert d'informations entre des capteurs et des outils de fond de trou et un équipement de surface, ainsi que des procédés permettant de faire fonctionner un tel équipement. Des opérations de puits de forage exécutées au moyen du tube d'intervention actionné par fibres optiques consistent à transmettre des signaux de commande provenant de l'équipement de surface vers l'équipement de fond de trou par l'intermédiaire du filoguidage par fibres optiques; à transmettre les informations collectées à partir d'au moins un capteur de fond de trou vers l'équipement de surface par l'intermédiaire du filoguidage par fibres optiques; ou à collecter des informations par mesure d'une propriété optique observée sur le filoguidage par fibres optiques. Les capteurs ou outils de fond de trou connectés au filoguidage par fibres optiques peuvent, soit comprendre des dispositifs conçus pour manipuler ou répondre à un signal optique directement, soit comprendre des capteurs ou des outils fonctionnant selon les principes classiques.
